Drive
For Kids Event Drops The Green Flag
DURHAM,
NC, October 29, 2001As millions of
Americans across the country
spent Saturday, Oct. 27- the 11th Make A Difference
Day - doing
volunteer
projects to improve their communities, University Ford Isuzu
of Durham
dropped the green flag on "Drive For Kids," a
four day event to benefit the
local agency of Big Brothers Big Sisters.
University
Ford of Durham is making a donation to the Big Brothers
Big
Sisters program for every test drive of a new car from
Oct 27th- Oct 30th.
at their downtown Durham location.
University Ford President, Tony Fisher says, "We've
always tried to support
those organizations that make a difference in the community,
and Big
Brothers Big Sisters definitely does that. We're
proud to be a part of this
event and hope that it will be a winner for all involved."
"Our
goal is to establish long lasting mentoring relationships,"
said Sabrina Slade, Executive Director. "This partnership
with University Ford
is a tremendous opportunity to raise awareness of our
signature one-to-one
mentoring program and to partner with a dedicated community
supporter."
Drive
For Kids' will end Tuesday, Oct. 30th with a closing event
scheduled
from 5-7 pm at the downtown location of University
Ford Isuzu; including an
appearance of NASCAR driver Todd Bodine and his race
car No. 66, tricks and
treats from Durham Bulls' mascot Wool E Bull, and
a safety program by the
Durham Fire Department.
